The Mental Health Council of Australia (MHCA) commissioned this study and report as a snapshot of community wellness and resilience within Australian communities. The report is part of a series of MHCA papers to inform decision-makers about what is needed to address Australia’s mental health crisis. This report focuses on the ways in which communities find things that, at the local level, do work in providing support to people with a mental illness. Consequently, the study explored how communities are resilient and how resilience can be further developed. The contents include project methodology, the conduct of the research, supporting national and international initiatives and weaving the net together with an analysis of the results.
