Aim: This course provides Managers with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage and/or address matters relating to harassment, discrimination and workplace bullying. Participants gain an overview of the relevant legislation, the roles and responsibilities of managers and the requirements of staff in relation to these issues.

Audience: Managers required to deal with equity and diversity issues within their teams and organisation.

Outcomes:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the manager when dealing with equity and diversity issues within the workplace
  • Identify harassment, discrimination and workplace bullying
  • Explain the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behaviours
  • Manage a harassment complaint
  • Utilise the relevant procedures for managing a complaint of unacceptable behaviour
  • Identify the resources and mechanisms available to support managers when dealing with equity and diversity complaints
