Situation PBSPO have coordinated the generation of capability into service of the Armidale Class Patrol Boats (ACPB). With the completion of the introduction into service of these vessels, the organisational raison d'ĂȘtre requires modification to reflect the Defence requirement to sustain the capability. PBSPO are responsible to liaise with the relevant contractors to provide a maintenance and servicing or sustaining capability on behalf of their customer, the Royal Australian Navy. PBSPO executives identified in an initial workshop, entitled Pathways to Sustainment, that the fundamental purpose of the organisation was to sustain “Boats At Sea” - these boats being the 14 ACPB.
Challenge To guide PBSPO to achieve a customer service culture that enables Boats At Sea and recognises and responds positively to the needs of all customers.
Response In progress.
