Emotional Intelligence Coaching Program for the Outward Bound Executive to improve the effectiveness of the Executive Management Team (E-Team). Outward Bound had undergone a period of significant challenge with reinvigorating its produce offering and core business to make it more sustainable. The emotional intelligence coaching focussed on how the executive team related to each other and more broadly to member of their individual teams.

| Response | This programme was conducted over an extended period on site at the Tharwa National Base. The coaching
included four individual coaching sessions and two key workshops which supplement the coaching. As part of
one of these workshops a listening profile tool was used to supplement the 'Understanding the emotions of Others'
coaching module. O2C utilised the Genos methodology which is the only EI measure designed specifically for the workplace. It uses Australian population norms and, therefore, provides an even more accurate assessment of effective workplace EI. It is also one of the only behaviour-based assessments of workplace EI. The Genos EI Multi-Rater Assessment Report we utilised at the beginning and the end of the process provided detailed feedback about the way others see them typically dealing with emotions in the workplace (ie. your Emotional Intelligence). It also provided an opportunity to compare others perceptions with those of their own. All assessment reports are supported by a comprehensive workbook that provides a range of development strategies targeted to individual results. |
| Outcome | The 8 month program was rated a large success by the team. The program allowed the E-Team to identify the key role emotions play in outward bound and put in place initiatives to support areas where emotion boosted the business and address areas where it may have been holding the organisation back. It allowed individuals to more accurately gauge and address their emotions including the impact these emotions had on their work environment. |
