| Situation |
Although not a provider of mental health services to clients, the Family Court of Australia
required that their clients are able to access appropriate services and information about these
conditions. |
| Challenge |
As part of a national implementation of a mental health support project, the Family Court
needed information on the strategies that best enable the distribution of mental health support
information to their clients. The Family Court also needed details of the potential providers of
this information. The Court outlined that possible strategies may require creative solutions to
best access their client base including children, ATSI and people from CALD backgrounds. |
| Response |
O2C used the following methodology to assist the Family Court with their situation:
- Developed a list of researchers with experience in this type of research;
- Developed a set of options for conducting the research including advantages,
disadvantages and estimated costs; and
- Submitted a report.
|
| Outcome |
O2C provided the report detailing the way forward for the Family Court was to potentially seek
a collaborative response of a communications organisation coupled with the expertise of an agency
with expertise in mental health issues. Such an approach would provide the Family Court the necessary
advice to effectively implement the mental health support project nationwide. |
