| Situation | DCO is dedicated to supporting commanders in looking after the welfare of Defence families. DCO comprises over 200 full time established positions of both uniformed and civilian Defence personnel in locations across Australia. Considerable internal and external drivers such as the Defence White Paper, Defence Support Group reforms, DCO People Plan, and structures and processes within DCO required a review of the workforce requirements needed to match strategic direction. |

| Response | The O2C facilitation team utilised a number of methods and techniques to challenge participants to explore the key issues in an inclusive and collaborative manner. These methods included clear negative emotions, role modelling, and De Bonos six hats theory. Participants were provided with a safe environment to discuss concerns, options and develop a series of options that enabled a comprehensive review of the DCO workforce requirements. |
