Diabetes Australia is the national peak body for diabetes in Australia providing a single, powerful, collective voice for people living with diabetes, their families and carers. Diabetes Australia works in partnership with state based Diabetes organisations to deliver services under the NDSS contract. |
| Challenge |
The Operational NDSS workshops required focussed activities to deliver on the outcomes required by the Commonwealth under the NDSS contract. These outcomes include building a consistent service model including national policies and procedures. This is particularly challenging as each state based organisation and the national body have developed separately. |
| Response |
The O2C facilitation team utilised a number of methods and techniques to challenge the national conference participants to explore the key issues in an inclusive and collaborative manner. The issues considered included both the pre-existing agenda as well as time to explore issues raised by states. The wrap-up of the workshop focussed on identifying key outcomes and ensuring that these were captured for completion or further investigation.

| Outcome |
The conferences afford participants the opportunity to identify the key issues and how the information and strategies required for action. These actions are then investigated and implementation begun prior to review at the following workshop. Workshops have endorsed existing materials and are in the process of exploring major issues that affect each of the states. |
